March 9, 2014 marks the 200th anniversary of Ukrainian poet, writer , artist and ethnographer Taras Shevchenko . Taras Shevchenko ( 1814-1861 ) in the Slavic culture was one of the most interesting figures of his time. Even during his lifetime , he won recognition of his contemporaries.
