in the exhibition hall "Manege" (St. George st., 3 /3) An exhibition of paintings of the Belarusian realists "The heads of our land. It is dedicated to two momentous events - the celebration of 65 anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War and the Year of Culture of Belarus in Russia.

Exactly 65 years ago, the peoples of the Soviet Union won the most important and most difficult victory - they were expelled from their native land invaders, and preserved for future generations, peace and freedom. A significant contribution to the common cause of defeating the enemy made Belarusian people. One of the first to assume the attack the enemy army, Belarus lost one in four residents were completely destroyed or damaged dozens of cities and hundreds of villages, but people fought heroically and persevered. Many of the artists of the exhibition "The heads of our land," fought in WWII, bringing the victory of the multinational Soviet state.

Although the Soviet Union is no longer, and between different nationalities living side by by side for decades, paving borders, unbreakable family ties are still united Russian, Ukrainians, Kazaks, Georgians, Armenians, and, of course, Belarus.

Origins of the fraternal relations of Russian and Belarusian go deep into the past, when we were one, one people. But time only strengthens the closeness of our countries. That is why the exhibition features the work of not only the venerable artists who worked during the second half of XX century (M. Savitsky, V. Gromyko , M. Danzig , L. Shemelev, V. Tsvirko, E. Zaitsev and others), but their pupils and successors, young painters, whose works also can be traced community spirit, school and culture of Belarus and Russia.

The exhibition features about 150 works of Belarusian artists from the collections of the International Confederation of Unions Artists and the Development Fund for Education and Arts.
