Today in New York's Guggenheim Museum opened the largest retrospective exhibition of Louise Bourgeois in all its more than 70-year career. Retrospective already seen in the major European museums of modern art: Tate Modern in London and the Pompidou Center in Paris. Along with such masters as Alberto Giacometti and Francis Bacon, it is considered one of the main representatives of existentialism in the art. Bourgeois friends with the surrealist and abstract expressionist, but never belonged to any single artistic trends - it works too in person for this ... The only thing that inspired and continues to inspire Bourgeois to create works of art - it is personal experience. Bourgeois is known as a painter, graphic artist, author and creator of prints performances, but her fame has primarily sculpture and installation. She is the author of the most expensive work of living French artists: in November 2006 one of its famous sculptures-«spidery» was sold at Christie's for 3.6 million dollars and a month ago, another «pauchiha», little, went to the same Christie's, in Paris for 2.5 million euros (more than 4 million dollars).

In New York, will put a lot of «spidery». Pauchiha - one of the main motives in the works of Bourgeois. Louise Bourgeois grew up in France. The family all refueled overbearing and strict father who is often mocked her daughter. Her faceless silent «Figures» - Bourgeois visible embodiment of feelings that she experienced, left in early 1940's from the war-torn France to the United States. Settled in New York with her husband, art historian Robert Golduoterom, she felt guilty before the family left in Europe. Many critics believe that the «Figures» personified for her family abandoned.

Later, Bourgeois began to create works, affecting its «corporeality». Sensual organic forms of her sculptures are sometimes shocked by their explicit allusion ...
