recently in London's Mall Galleries opened retrospective exhibition of outstanding Russian nonconformist Vladimir Yankylevsky (b. 1938) , which was titled "Anatomy of the senses» . Trying to reproduce this life and to develop a dynamic, plastic system where all found their place and acquired visual contact with reality, I suddenly came to create images similar to the archaic, and until I suddenly realized that this is the path that has always followed the artists, especially of ancient times: if not to imitate reality and sought to express the life, and obtained Negro mask, get ... Yankilevsky admired painters in the works which coexist epic scope, a fierce expression and erotic motives - among his idols, he calls Picasso, Bacon and Max Ernst.

In Moscow, Vladimir Yankylevsky retrospective organized four times - in 1978, 1987, 1995-1996 and 2007. His work is included in the collections of many famous foreign museums, including the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Paris Pompidou Center and the Prague National Gallery.
