Ilya Wolf. Aidan Gallery

ARTinvestment.RU: What is the exhibition event of the year you can name the most important for your gallery? What was your major success?

Ilya Wolf : It is difficult to answer. We generally try not to rank our events on the important and substantial and continuous and irrelevant. Therefore, in the past year was a major achievement, I would say that the very existence of the gallery, as well as the fact that the crisis has not made any significant changes to our schedule of exhibitions, and in our activities in general. Let's just say, quantified financial crisis will affect all spheres of our activity: the number of sales, profits, investment in new projects, but qualitatively it is we do not "pull up».

AI: What event or exhibition you would call the principal in 2009? What made the greatest impression on you?

IV: Most likely, Moscow Biennale and its accompanying projects. Vigorous activity "Garage».

AI: is your prediction: Will the 2010-th year of restoration of the art market and what are the prerequisites for this do you feel today? Your script?

IV: Prerequisites for a recession, of course. However, they were in the middle of the year. A fundamental change has not yet felt. It is unlikely that 2010 will be a year restoring the art market. Even if it be a year of recovery in the world economy in general and Russia in particular - it does not lead to an instant rise of the art market. First, all will have to patch the hole, lick wounds, rebuild the infrastructure business, and only then, after receiving the first "post-crisis" profits - think about the long-term investment in art or how to make a gift in the form of some compositions. This is not entirely applicable to professional collectors: This category of our colleagues and clients will acquire art has always been, regardless of market conditions. The only question in the volumes. If all goes well and 2010-th year will bring some relief to the economy - somewhere in a year can expect a significant recovery of the art market. And hardly used.

AI: Can you mention some positive aspects of the impact of the crisis on the market of art? In particular, contributed to a crisis of modernization art market?

IV: As for upgrading - not very clear what we mean. I would say that the crisis has shown how real and justified today's prices. When gallery owner announces price of the product and the customer is trading - before the majority of sellers prices rarely fell more than ten per cent. Today, many prices have dropped in many times. Fortunately, this does not apply to galleries and good works of good artists. Prices are kept, we can say at the level of emergency preparedness, and, indeed, buy them more than for what is available in two to three times cheaper than a couple of years ago. So now this revaluation, I would mention the positive effects. Some effect of litmus test. The strong become stronger, the weak - weaker.

AI: How do you assess the growth of informational openness of Russia's art market, in particular, pricing information and processes provided ARTinvestment . RU? Rather helps or hinders the growth of information rather open your business?

IV: Any information the market needs. Information transparency allows a clearer and more convincing arguments to formulate the principles of pricing and demonstrates the relevance of specific areas, artists, styles. And if earlier it was possible to find at least some sales statistics only for the antiques market, and only from Western sources (auktsionniki, reviews, web resources) - but today you can find a wealth of information about Russian artists and the dynamics of the market is Russia. That's good. At least it proves the openness and civility of the market. He gradually ceases to be a certain closed, sealed with seven seals domain of a handful of "understanding" - and grows into a normal line of business activity. In addition, the openness allows integration in international processes, which also increases confidence in Russia's top art market.

AI: your wishes yourself, as well as colleagues and participants market in the new year?

IV: to survive, survive and be after the crisis is not in a clean, scorched, field, and preserved the system of art - market. That is not to create everything from scratch and restored back to its pre-crisis state. The rest will follow. And, given the recent shock the sad news of the death of a remarkable man Oli Lopukhova - all wish health and, no matter how cliché it may sound, long life ...

AI: What event or exhibition you would call the principal in 2009? What made the greatest impression on you?

IG: Botticelli exhibition in Shtedele (Frankfurt).

AI: is your prediction: Will the 2010-th year of restoration of the art market and what are the prerequisites for this do you feel today? Your script?

IG: market can not be destroyed, that it "restore". He is always, only develops a sine curve - then off, then landing. If it could be an increase in the volume of trading, then - yes, better. Cumulatively, with the increase in late 2010.

AI: Can you mention some positive aspects of the impact of the crisis on the market of art? In particular, contributed to a crisis of modernization art market?

IG: Did the crisis to improve the Russian economy? - No, of course. Everything Else - derivative. Oil - our terrible enemy, would be better if it did not exist.

AI: How do you assess the growth of informational openness of Russia's art market, in particular information on prices and processes provided ARTinvestment.RU? Rather helps or hinders the growth of information rather open your business?

IG: boys - you fellows, Respect to you, such a market-push open - feast for the eyes.

AI: What event or exhibition you would call the principal in 2009? What made the greatest impression on you?

PL: The third Moscow Biennale of contemporary art in the center of "Garage».

AI: is your prediction: Will the 2010-th year of restoration of the art market and what are the prerequisites for this do you feel today? Your script?

PL: All problematic.

AI: Can you mention some positive aspects of the impact of the crisis on the market of art? In particular, contributed to a crisis of modernization art market?

PL: Many new galleries - can, in this positive impact of the crisis?

AI: How do you assess the growth of informational openness of Russia's art market, in particular, pricing information and processes provided ARTinvestment.RU? Rather helps or hinders the growth of information rather open your business?

PL: estimate it positively. This helps to regulate prices.

AI: your wishes yourself, as well as colleagues and market participants in the new year?

PL: All health and success in overcoming crisis situations.

Maxim Bedova. Gallery MARICEVIC Fine Art and Antiques

AI: What is the exhibition event of the year you can name the most important for your gallery? What was your major success?

Maxim Bedova: Autumn Antique Salon .

AI: What event or exhibition you would call the principal in 2009? What made the greatest impression on you?

MB: Non-profit exhibition GTG and GRM ( Sergei Diaghilev and the Russian ballet seasons , world of art, etc.) Unfortunately, the Russian Fashion Week this year were not as good as we would like.

AI: What is your prediction: Will the 2010-th year of restoration of the art market and what are the prerequisites for this do you feel today? Your script?

MB: 2010-th seems more positive year than the current one. There are a number of prerequisites: autumn beauty was more efficient than the spring, and in general the second half was more lively than the first. Let's hope this trend.

AI: Can you mention some positive aspects of the impact of the crisis on the market of art? In particular, contributed to a crisis of modernization art market?

MB: Due to the market crisis, we can say, somewhat cleared, it became less overvalued, and frankly questionable things.

AI: How do you assess the growth of informational openness of Russia's art market, in particular, pricing information and processes provided ARTinvestment.RU? Rather helps or hinders the growth of information rather open your business?

MB: definitely helps. It is much easier to work with a client who understands that he buys and how much it should cost.

AI: your wishes yourself, as well as colleagues and market participants in new year?

MB: Happy new year !!!

Victoria Stupina. Volkhonka Fine Arts Centre

AI: What is the exhibition event of the year you can name the most important for your gallery? What was your major success?

Victoria Stupina : Opening of the Center and the patronage of Princess Michael of Kent and the establishment of partnerships with the world's largest galleries.

AI: What event or exhibition you would call the principal in 2009? What made the greatest impression on you?

VS: "100 Masterpieces of Old Masters. Most impressed by the fact that, despite the crisis, the Russian client keeps the interest in the paintings of old masters.

AI: is your prediction: Will 2010 -- First year of restoration of the art market and what are the prerequisites for this do you feel today? Your script?

VS: Art Market will be slow to recover with the economy within three or four years. Market of the old masters remained stable in Russia and did not change much.

AI: Can you mention some positive aspects of the impact of the crisis on the market of art? In particular, contributed to a crisis of modernization art market?

VS: It may be noted withdrawal from the market of small players and great care taken in selecting clients artwork.

AI: How do you assess the growth of informational openness of Russia's art market, in particular, pricing information and processes provided ARTinvestment.RU? Rather helps or hinders the growth of information rather open your business?

VS: Positive. Most of the clients on the art market wants to see in an open information space confirm the fair value of the product they acquire. In the case of mobile confirming the fair value of independent sources the deal goes more smoothly.

AI: your wishes yourself, as well as colleagues and market participants in the new year?

VS: In our country the market for serious art world standards a very, very young. Therefore, the main wish - joint specifically sensitize audiences to the art market has taken a worthy place in Russia.
